| Direct Media, Inc. and Unsolicited Email
Dear Sir or Madam:
We have received your correspondence alerting us that you have received an unsolicited email from Direct Media, Inc., or that you are requesting we remove your from our mailing lists.
We are very concerned because we have discovered that an unidentified spammer has been placing our corporate name at the bottom of their email messages. We have been trying to track the spammer(s) down so that we can force them to stop sending these messages. Unfortunately, to date our efforts to track this spammer down have been unsuccessful. There is little we can do to stop the spammer until we identify them. We have reported this situation to the FTC and they have responded, stating that all spam should be directed to the FTC at UCE@FTC.GOV. We encourage you to do so. Please make reference to FTC Complaint No. 4294438 and you will not have to complete any complaint form.
Direct Media does not own any mailing lists nor do we ever send commercial email. We do work with some nationally recognized and highly reputable companies who occasionally send emails to their customers and/or to some specific prospect lists. In all cases mail is only sent to those consumers who have granted approval to receive it. If you are trying to have your name and address removed from all mailing lists, contact the Direct Marketing Association. Here is a link to the part of their site that explains how they can help you with this process: http://www.the-dma.org/consumers/consumerassistance.html.
Please let us know if you feel we can be of more assistance. If you continue to receive similar emails, you can help us by forwarding them to privacy@directmedia.com.
Sincerely,
Direct Media, Inc.
