DAVID W. FLORENCE
Chairman
David W. Florence is the Founder and Chairman of Direct Media, a leading mailing list broker and manager. Direct Media is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut with offices in Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto.
Mr. Florence started his career with IBM as a salesman in their Data Processing Division. He entered direct marketing by opening a New York office for National Business Lists and started List Management, Inc. in 1967. At that time, there was only one other mailing list manager in the country. In 1969, he founded Direct Media.
Mr. Florence is generally credited with starting the first public mailing list database in 1971. He is a former director of the Advertising Mail Marketing Association and of the Direct Marketing Association. He is a Trustee of the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation. In 1993 he received the DMA List Leader of the Year Award and in 1987 he received the Direct Marketing Club of New York Silver Apple Award. In October 2004 he was inducted into the DMA Hall of Fame.
Mr. Florence is a graduate of Dartmouth College and has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University. Between Dartmouth and Columbia, he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
LARRY MAY
Chief Executive Officer
Larry is CEO of Direct Media Inc., and works with DMI's staff and clients on a wide range of direct marketing services.
He joined DMI in 1993, creating DMI's May Development Services. MDS provides direct mail fundraising services to non-profit organizations, specializing in health, social service and religious appeals. Last year, MDS participated in over 350,000,000 pieces of fund raising mail, making it the largest list brokerage for nonprofits in the industry.
Larry began his career as a freelance copywriter in 1978. In 1980, he joined Walter Karl, Inc. as copywriter for its Qualified Lists division. During his 13 years at WKI, he moved to Account Executive and ultimately to President of the WKI Fundraising Division.
Larry has been a very active volunteer with the Direct Marketing Association and other industry organizations, and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University in 1977. He and his wife Debby have three children and live in Westchester County, NY.
RICK SARLI

Rick Sarli has been with Direct Media since 1994 first serving as Controller and now Chief Financial and Operating Officer. Before joining Direct Media, Inc. Rick spent several years as a public auditor with Laventhol and Horwath, CPAs and assistant controller at Mobius Management Systems, Inc., a local software development company.
Rick received a BBA from York College of Pennsylvania in 1987, and is a CPA, certified in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

JUDY WRIGHT
Vice President of Human Resources
Judy Wright has been at the helm of Direct Media's Human Resources Department for more than twenty years. As Vice President of Human Resources, she heads up Direct Media's recruitment efforts, employee relations and develops and implements the company's training programs.
Judy is Direct Media's eyes and ears for legal compliance. She develops and administers all employee policies, benefits, payroll and wage administration programs.

Larry joined Direct Media in January, 2002 with 30 years experience in both direct marketing and IT Systems and Development. He understands how vital a role technology plays with our clients customer acquisition efforts, along with its importance in revenue generation for list owners. In addition, his direction of Direct Medias IT staff insures that DMIs systems, reporting, and research capabilities continue to be the most technologically advanced in the industry.

MAXIM BARTKO

Maxim C. Bartko is the President of Direct Medias Business-to-Business Division. Max has been with Direct Media for 22 years. He came to Direct Media with experience in global corporate marketing and BTB direct mail marketing. As one of Direct Medias early BTB list brokers, Max helped pioneer the list specific databases that serve many of todays clients. Maxs other titles during his tenure at Direct Media include President of Corporate Sales and Marketing, Executive V.P. of Advertising and Public Relations, President of List Management.
Max has written extensively for DM News and Catalog Age on various topics related to the List Industry.
ED BOCKNIK

Ed Bocknik joined Direct Media in September 1980 as an Account Executive in the firm's consumer list management group. Over the years, he gained experience in all areas of the direct mail industry. In 1992, he was named head of DMI's Business-to-Business/High-Tech list management division and from 1995 through 2003, directed all of Direct Media's list and insert management groups.
Recognized for his expertise both in sales management and list marketing, today he heads DMI's eCommerce Services unit. The eCommerce group provides solutions for clients in such areas as online lead generation, customer retention management and revenue generation. Specific services include online ad placements, building web traffic, email messaging and deployment, co-registration sales and email list management.
He graduated from Iona College in 1979 with a BBA in Marketing and Communication Arts and in 1983 earned an MBA in Business Administration.
SALLY COUGHLIN

Branch Manager Direct Media's Chicago Office
Sally Coughlin brings over 20 years of marketing experience to her clients. Prior to opening the Chicago office in 1991, Sally was the Catalog Marketing Manager for General Mills, Inc and LeeWards Creative Crafts. There, her responsibilities included: Circulation Planning, Customer Acquisition, List and Package Insert Sales Programs and New Business Development. In addition, she developed and implemented cooperative media programs for LeeWards Creative Crafts, Eddie Bauer and Talbot (then members of the General Mills family of Companies).
Currently Sally shares her knowledge of the consumer and business to business marketplace with national accounts such as Reiman Publications, Lands' End Corporate Sales, American Master Products, Public Broadcasting Service and Harriet Carter. Sally has been very successful in establishing Direct Media as a major force in list sales, specializing in catalog, financial, high tech and publishing offers. Sally has also been successful in developing successful media campaigns and creating prospecting databases for her clients.
Sally's professional affiliations include: Direct Marketing Association and the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing. She has made several speaking appearances at local colleges and business organizations in the Midwest.
LINDA HUNTOON

Linda discovered Direct Marketing when she went to work in the order department at Walter Karl, Inc. Linda pioneered Proprietary Promotional Databases and Hotline Marketing techniques and achieved the level of Vice President. In 1992 she joined SpeciaLISTS, now ClientLogic Specialists Marketing Services, as President of her own Brokerage Division which she maintained for ten years. In 2002 she joined Direct Media, Inc. as Executive Vice President where she continues to maintain her own accounts while working with the Corporate Executive Team to develop systems and strategies to support the broad client base at Direct Media, Inc.
She is a member of many industry organizations including the DMA, WDMI, and NEMOA and she presides as Chair of the List/Database Council. Linda is a 2004 winner of the Silver Apple Award from the Direct Marketing Club of New York, a frequent speaker at industry events and also writes for numerous trade publications.
MAY KATZ

Direct Media International, a division of Direct Media, Inc., is a specialized multinational Direct Marketing Group providing international list and direct marketing services to companies wishing to expand globally.
May Katz started her career with Celanese Corporation as a Business Analyst in their Strategic Planning group. She entered the direct marketing industry in 1979, joining Dillion, Agnew & Marton - a leading international direct marketing agency - where she became partner in 1982.
In 1993 Ms. Katz joined Direct Media, Inc. to co-manage their International group and over the past 25 years has established herself as one of the leading experts in international direct mail marketing and list brokerage services, providing mailers with full service multinational direct marketing programs outside the U.S. and Canada.
Ms. Katz has worked on a variety of global marketing efforts, including programs for AT&T International, Bank America, CitiBank, and the NY State International Department of Economic Development. She is a leading expert in the field of international publishing, and has helped to develop worldwide circulation for such prestigious publications as: Business Week International, Forbes Global, Fortune Magazine, Harvard Business Review, National Geographic, Scientific American and Time Magazine.
May has spoken on global marketing and international direct mail at several DMA events, the Direct Marketing Education Foundation, the USPS Global Seminars and is a regular speaker at the Publishers Multinational Direct Conference. She has also written articles for Target Marketing, DM News International and Circulation Management Magazine.
Ms. Katz is a graduate of Stony Brook University and earned an MBA in Quantitative Analysis from Seton Hall University.
KAREN MAYHEW

Consumer List & Insert Management
Throughout her more than 18-year career at Direct Media, Karen has worked with all aspects of consumer list marketing, with an emphasis on catalog, continuity and the mass market. As a Team Leader, Karen has overseen the day-to-day sales and marketing efforts for many of the most prestigious accounts at DMI. In 1993 she became a Vice President and in 1996 Karen was voted Sales Person of the Year at Direct Media in recognition of her superior sales efforts.
Karen began her career in Direct Marketing at Direct Media, Inc. after graduation from Butler University with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. She is an active member of the New England Mail Order Association, the Direct Marketing Club of New York, and the DMA Catalog Council.
MIKE MAYHEW
Executive Vice President, B-to-B List Management
Mike began his direct marketing career in 1986 with Direct Media, Inc. Early in his career, Mike worked in the consumer list management division on a wide array of properties including Diners Club, Omaha Steaks, and Eddie Bauer. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, Mike went on to Direct Media's database marketing group where he was responsible for the implementation and execution of campaigns for some of the leading seminar and training mailers in the U.S. In 1992, Mike returned to list management after being promoted to an Account Executive in the business-to-business division. In 1999-2000, Mike was the Director of Database Management for Lycos, Inc. where he oversaw the sales, marketing and management of their numerous email and postal list products.
Mike Mayhew currently serves as Senior Vice President Business List Management. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sales and operations in the B2B list management group which includes clients in the business merchandise, publishing, technology, seminar/training, email and Internet sectors.
Over a nineteen-year span, Mike has had direct account management dealings with some of the largest marketers in the country including SkillPath Seminars, International Data Group, Financial Times/FT.com, Iomega, Staples, Crain Communications, National Seminars, TechTarget, and Symantec.
Mike is a graduate of Ithaca College where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
ROSEMARIE MONTROY

Twenty seven years ago, famed copywriter and lecturer Rene Gnam explained that contrary to the description supplied by the employment agency, direct marketing was not typing mailing labels but working with clients who actually measured the success of their marketing campaigns. This explanation launched the direct marketing career of Rosemarie Montroy.
Since that time Rosemarie has worked with a number of powerful direct marketing companies. She was the first female executive at Standard Rate & Data Service; she developed business-to-business list compilations at Zeller & Letica and after a six-year stint heading the list management division of Mal Dunn Associates, Rosemarie joined Direct Media in 1987.
Describing herself as a true marketer, Rosemarie not only led Direct Medias $20,000,000 consumer management group, she was a pioneer in what today have become common list marketing practices. Together with list legend, Dave Florence, Rosemarie was the first to introduce live enhancements to demographic/lifestyle overlays, developed the concept of multi-tier pricing, introduced modeling and list profiling and worked closely with clients to not only maximize list revenue, but to help them build their core businesses.
Today, Rosemarie leads the marketing and new business development for all of Direct Media.
MARY ELLEN QUIRK

Mary Ellen Quirk is Vice President, Consumer List Brokerage. Mary Ellen has been with Direct Media since 1996 as a key member in the Consumer List Brokerage Division. Prior to that she was president of Names in the News, brokerage division of the Lake Group.
Throughout her career, Mary Ellen’s focus has been in the consumer publishing marketplace. Her expertise covers both the mailer and service sides of the industry. Some of her accounts include National Geographic Society, Newsweek and Emmis Communications.
DOLORES RYAN BABCOCK

Dolores Ryan Babcock joined Direct Media in 1987 and brought with her a vast knowledge of the consumer marketing industry and a unique specialty in package insert media.
Currently, Dolores shares her knowledge of the consumer marketplace with national accounts such as Lillian Vernon, Omaha Steaks, Spiegel and Seventh Avenue. Dolores has been successful in establishing Direct Media as a major force in the consumer marketplace, specializing in catalog and general merchandise markets.
Her experience prior to Direct Media includes four years at Walter Karl Company in both management and brokerage and three years at Leon Henry specializing in package inserts.
Dolores holds the title of Executive Vice President and is a member of the Direct Media Board of Directors.
MICHAEL TUOHY
Vice President, Business-to-Business Division
Mike Tuohy oversees the administration and product development of Direct Media's DataWarehouse. The DataWarehouse is a cooperative prospecting environment that currently supports the direct mail efforts of more than 50 B-to-B mailers.
Previously, Mike held the titles of VP, Strategy for 24/7 Media, Inc.'s ECRM division and Vice President/National Sales Manager of 24/7 Mail, a division of 24/7 Media, where he oversaw business development and list acquisition, product development, list brokerage and management.
Prior to joining 24/7 Media, Tuohy served as Product Manager/E-mail Campaign Management at Acxiom / DMI, the leading provider of data products, data integration services, and mailing list services, where he managed E-mail Service Bureau sales, product development, list management and brokerage, and e-mail consulting. In that capacity, Tuohy launched a product Acxiom Preferred Mail, Later renamed Email Campaign Management (ECM) and introduced a number of high profile clients to e-mail marketing. Mike also held the position of Senior Account Executive at Acxiom/DMI, where he was responsible for account management, coordinating group sales, and identifying sales opportunities.
Mike is a member of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and has spoken at DMA List Events as well as Direct Media Consumer, BtoB and Email Co-ops. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Speech Communication from the University of Rhode Island.

CAROLYN WOODRUFF

Carolyn began her career in direct marketing over twenty-five years ago after graduating from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She joined a large list management firm in New York as a production manager and within two years was promoted to an Account Executive in Sales.
In 1984, Carolyn moved into the List Brokerage world as a Senior Account Executive. She had full marketing responsibilities for all clients, including American Management Association, Encyclopedia Britannica, Harvard Business Review, Hearst Publications, International Masters Publishing, and Prentice Hall. In 1985, she was appointed Vice President of Marketing. In 1993, Carolyn joined Uni-Mail as a Senior Vice President. During her time at Uni-Mail, she was responsible for New Business Development as well as her client responsibilities.
Carolyn joined Direct Media Consumer Brokerage in 2001, as Executive Vice President. Her current client roster includes: Carol Wright, Dr. Leonards Healthcare Corporation, Physicians Mutual Insurance Company, and Yves Rocher Beauty Catalog. She is on the Direct Media Board of Directors and is extremely active in the Direct Marketing Association. Carolyn is a frequent contributor to industry publications and has spoken at various direct marketing functions.
